Spread the love

*edit – the post is finally done and ready to publish ๐Ÿ™‚ *

While writing this we are waiting for our gate to open, at Arlanda airport – Stockholm, Sweden – going back home sadly enough.

We came here for the wedding of a very good friend of mine who got married on Saturday, and on Sunday was a party planned in a little fab barn in the middle of the woods and open fields. Was such a cute landmark, and a very – almost – fairytale view everywhere.

Left early in the morning to get to the airport in time before the big traffic jams started, and to be sure I did not had to sit trough any stress situations and such… you know how these things go. So we arrived about 2 hours before boarding time, and enjoyed a nice coffee and some breakfast before heading over to the boarding gate.We arrived round 12 in Sweden, took the Arlanda Express train to the central station, and after 2 metro’s we were able to check in in at the hotel.MVIMG_20180817_124630Cause we were early anyway – we went for a walk down into the town of Hammersby Sojstad. We immediately felt at home. So cute, peacefully, clean… we were both really impressed about it all. After the nice walk we went back to have a look at the hotel room. Impressed about it all though, look really clean and modern.
Saturday we went to see the old town part of Stockholm. Lovely walk round the quayside, cup of coffee and some pastries. We saw the old palace, the huge cruise ships that dock in Stockholm, the views, the buildings,…IMG_20180818_141307IMG_20180818_142551IMG_20180818_143935IMG_20180818_143111Sunday we took it very easy, and had a walk round the hotel. And then our hour and half journey towards the wedding venue. We couldn’t stay very late cause we so needed to make sure that the public transport was still running so that we could get back to the hotel. Think we were back at the hotel by midnight.MVIMG_20180819_174323MVIMG_20180819_182813Monday we decided to venture into Stockholm city centre. I must say… I enjoyed the old part more. The city centre looks like any big city though. All the same… but hey, we did it ๐Ÿ™‚ After a hour we decided to go to a different part, and visit the ABBA museum. Yes, when your in Sweden it’s a once in a lifetime thing to do I guess ๐Ÿ™‚ it wasn’t so bad after all. The history, the pictures, videos, … all very nice. And it’s also quite interactive.Tuesday, we took it easy and had a nice sleep in. The hubby is a big fan of theme parks, so we decided to go to Grรถna Lund. A small but stunning theme park with more rides and stalls then you would think by looking at it from the outside. But first we tried to be a bit cultural by visiting the Vas museum. They managed to salvage a ship from 1628, that sunk and been in the water for 333 years. Was really amazing to see it all though. Amazing how they managed to salvage and preserve something like this though. And today, Wednesday … we are going back home. It’s been a lovely holiday. We enjoyed every moment of it. And I’m sure we will be back at some point.

Hugzzz, Steven X
